A scared dog may run from people, even from family. Do not chase, shout, or crowd the dog. Stay calm. Note the exact spot and which way the dog went. We can use the last-seen path, open ground, brush edges, and safe flight areas to plan the search.

A lost cat may hide close to home and stay very quiet. It may not meow when you call. Look under porches, decks, sheds, cars, and thick bushes. Ask nearby homes to check garages. We can review nearby hiding areas that are safe and legal to scan from the air.

What to Do When Your Dog, Cat or Pet Goes Missing
Call as soon as you know your pet is gone. A fresh last-seen point gives us a smaller area to review. As time passes, your pet may move and the search area may grow. Starting early can improve the search plan, but no search can promise a find.
Write down the exact address or map pin, date, time, pet type, and any new sighting.
Report the pet lost and be ready to record each new sighting without chasing.

Same-day searches serve eligible locations up to 150 one-way road miles of our West Palm Beach dispatch point. Travel beyond 25 miles is $2 per excess one-way road mile, charged once per visit. Membership has a separate 50-mile included travel allowance. We confirm weather, airspace, access, crew availability and search suitability before dispatch.

Membership eligibility and travel
The included search starts 7 days after successful enrollment and payment. A pet already missing at enrollment, or first missing during the waiting period, is not eligible for an included search for that incident. Membership includes 50 one-way road miles from West Palm Beach; beyond that, add $2 per excess one-way road mile, charged once per visit and quoted before dispatch.
Same-day search travelTravel is included within 25 one-way road miles of our West Palm Beach dispatch point. Beyond 25 miles, add $2 per excess one-way road mile, charged once per visit covering round-trip travel. Eligible locations extend to 150 one-way road miles. At 100 miles, the $400 search plus $150 travel totals $550.
Additional search time and optional recoveryAdditional approved thermal search time is $100/hour. Onsite time includes normal battery changes, repositioning and search coordination; it does not mean continuous flight. Optional hands-on recovery is separately agreed and charged only if we successfully secure the animal.

Eligible same-day searches extend up to 150 one-way road miles, including locations in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties when distance and flight conditions fit. Can I request a lost-pet search in Saint Petersburg, Florida?
Yes. Contact Sun State UAS with the last-seen location in Saint Petersburg (St. Petersburg), Pinellas County or the Tampa Bay area for a case review. These locations are outside our normal West Palm Beach pet-search dispatch radius. Confirm availability and a separate travel quote with the team before booking or paying.
Can a new Eyes in the Sky membership cover a pet that is already missing?
No. Eyes in the Sky is for future missing-pet incidents after the waiting period. A pet already missing at enrollment, or first missing during the 7-day waiting period, is not eligible for an included search for that incident. The separate same-day pet search is $400 for up to 3 hours onsite, plus applicable travel; additional approved search time is $100 per hour. Finding or recovery is not guaranteed.
